Former Manchester United forward Odiong Jude Ighalo has sent a sympathetic message to the Nigerian fans during Osimhen’s transfer saga.

Napoli forward Victor Osimhen has been a subject of transfer war this summer, failing to find himself a new club after his relationship with his club has been on total breakdown.

Osimhen signed a new and improved contract in January with a release clause of €120 million but no club has been able to trigger the clause as the forward has been left out of the club’s Serie A Squad.

French side Paris Saint-Germain agreed personal terms with Osimhen on a four-year deal back in July but couldn’t reach an agreement with Napoli which automatically put the deal on complete standby.

Chelsea and Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli were the last to table deals for the African footballer of the year but none could reach a compromise with all parties involved.

Football fans in Nigeria began to taunt the former Lille man after he failed to agree on a deal with Chelsea, prompting Ighalo to step in.

“No human being is perfect, we have all made mistakes in life, but seeing comments about this young man from his own country people makes me really sad Without even knowing what happened,”. Ighalo wrote on his official X account.

“I spoke with him (Osimhen) and I can feel the pain in his voice, the way he’s been treated, this young man plays with heart and pain for his country.

“He will definitely be back stronger, we learn everyday in life.” He added.
