The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially summoned Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to face a disciplinary committee due to accusations of engaging in anti-party conduct.

Ibrahim Abdullahi, the party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, revealed this development during a Monday interview.

Abdullahi stated that the disciplinary committee has sent a formal invitation to Wike concerning his recent remarks about the party. He specifically criticized Wike for his comment regarding “putting fire in their states” about PDP governors, labelling it as intolerable.

“He must choose his words more wisely; that comment was quite disappointing. We did not expect him to express such sentiments, and we certainly do not support it,” Abdullahi emphasized.

This announcement follows closely on the heels of Wike’s statements expressing satisfaction with his role in President Bola Tinubu’s administration, despite the backlash and doubts surrounding his appointment.

Wike provocatively remarked that those displeased with his position in Tinubu’s government could “go and hug the transformer.”
