The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken a firm stance against Nyesom Wike, the former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. The party’s leadership asserts that no individual is above its authority.
During the PDP state congress held at the party’s secretariat in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Wike warned PDP governors to steer clear of interfering in the party’s affairs in Rivers State. He issued a stern warning, stating, “Put fire in their states.”
Wike emphasized, “Let me assure all of you, no one will take away the structure of the PDP from us. I hear some governors claim they will take over the structure and give it back to someone else.”
In response, PDP National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba addressed the press in Abuja, stating, “No one is above this party. It is the People’s Democratic Party.”
Ologunagba added, “We have established reconciliation and disciplinary committees with a clear mandate to address these issues. We will await their report.”
Details will follow as the situation develops.
