Babatunde Faro, a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Ondo, declared that the party aims to propel the state towards development if it secures victory in the upcoming governorship election this November.

In a recent interview with the press in Akure, Faro emphasized that the PDP stands as a credible alternative, prepared to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He highlighted the party’s commitment to addressing the economic challenges faced by residents and ensuring a brighter future for the people of Ondo State.

Faro praised the PDP’s gubernatorial candidate, Agboola Ajayi, along with his running mate, Festus Akingbaso, affectionately known as Fessy West, as the ideal team to rescue the state from its “current plight of mismanagement, poverty, and stagnation.”

According to Faro, Ajayi and Akingbaso possess the necessary vision, skills, and dedication to revive the state’s former glory and foster prosperity for its citizens.

Having previously aspired for the Akure South/Akure North Federal Constituency in a 2021 by-election, Faro asserted that the ongoing economic struggles faced by Nigerians would dissuade Ondo’s electorate from supporting the APC in future elections.

“The APC-led administration has failed to fulfill its promises, plunging Nigerians into unprecedented hardship,” he remarked.

He noted that the people of Ondo State have been particularly hard-hit, and they will remember this when they head to the polls. Faro reinforced the PDP’s readiness to provide a better alternative and relief for the populace.

The PDP leader characterized the actions of the APC as a betrayal of public trust, causing significant hurt to the state’s residents.

“The trust placed in the APC has been broken, and it’s time for a change. As the 2024 governorship election draws near, discontent among Nigerians regarding the economic climate is on the rise,” he concluded.
