Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has reiterated that his club is not ready  for the Premier League top prize.

As quoted by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Portuguese Midfielder noted that the main objective of the club this season is to be among the top four at the end of the season and not to win the league.

“I said it during the contract extension, it’s a long-term commitment.” Fernandes said.

“I’m fully aware that United are not ready to win the league at the moment. The minimum objective is to finish in the top four.”

“We are aware that we still have many things to improve to be able to dream of this great objective, which is what I want and what we all want, that is to win the championship.”

United started this season with a slim 1-0 win over Fulham thanks to a late goal by new signing Joshua Zirkzee.

The club has hence lost to Brighton and Holve Albion and then an embarrassing 3-0 defeat by Liverpool at Old Trafford.

United has recorded a relative success in this summer transfer window after landing almost their targets.

The Red Devils have signed five senior players in Leny Yoro, Matthijs De Ligt, Mazraoui, Joshua Zirkzee and Manuel Ugarte.

The club hierarchies recently after the Liverpool defeat assured of the confidence they have on current manager Erik Ten Hag and believes he is the right man for the Old Trafford job.
