The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has fervently campaigned in the Etsako East and Etsako Central Local Government Areas of Edo State, with Governor Godwin Obaseki at the forefront, rallying support for their gubernatorial candidate, Asue Ighodalo, and his deputy, Osarodion Ogie.

Addressing enthusiastic crowds, Governor Obaseki confidently declared Ighodalo as the most qualified candidate for the upcoming elections, asserting that voting for the PDP guarantees a brighter future for Edo State.

In his speech at Agenebode, Etsako East, Obaseki pointed out the economic hurdles currently plaguing Nigeria and positioned Ighodalo as the key to overcoming these challenges. “Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie are ready to enact transformative policies that will uplift and revitalize our state,” he proclaimed. “We are proud to present a team that embodies integrity, intelligence, and substantial experience.”

While in Fugar, Etsako Central, the governor expressed gratitude to the community for their active role in the ongoing voter registration campaign, noting that around 7,500 new voters had been added across the 10 wards of Fugar. He encouraged residents to channel their enthusiasm into the elections set for September 21.

In Agenebode, Ighodalo spoke directly to the crowd, committing to initiatives focused on stimulating economic development. He highlighted local resources, particularly the River Niger, as key assets for fostering prosperity.

During his address in Fugar, Ighodalo took a critical stance against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing them of exacerbating poverty among the populace while praising Obaseki’s efforts to guide the state towards progress. He reassured supporters of his intention to uphold and advance the current government’s developmental initiatives.

Hon. Benedicta Attoh, the Chairman of Etsako East Local Government, expressed her optimism about the PDP’s chances, confidently stating, “We are eagerly anticipating September 21 to celebrate our victory.”
