The Nigerian government has launched a new digital platform called the Federal Education Quality Assurance Service Cloud Server (FEQAS-collect) to enhance the quality of basic and secondary education in the country.
The platform aims to streamline the collection, analysis, and reporting of data related to educational quality. This will enable the Federal Ministry of Education to monitor, evaluate, and improve education quality assurance processes more effectively.
The launch of FEQAS-collect is a significant step forward for Nigeria’s education sector. Previously, quality assurance evaluations were conducted manually, which led to delays and human errors. The new digital platform will help to address these challenges and ensure that evaluations are conducted more efficiently and accurately.
The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) played a key role in developing FEQAS-collect. The commission recognized the need for a more efficient and reliable system for monitoring and evaluating schools. With the support of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), UBEC developed the FEQAS-collect platform.
The platform is now being used by Quality Assurance Officers in UBEC, State Universal Basic Education Boards (SUBEBs), and Local Government Education Authorities (LGEAs). The officers are using digital tablets to conduct evaluations, which simplifies the process and ensures that all aspects of schools are evaluated effectively.
The launch of FEQAS-collect is a positive development for Nigeria’s education sector. By improving the quality of education, the government can help to prepare students for success in the workforce and contribute to the country’s economic growth.
