Nnedinma Obioha is making waves in Nigeria’s technology landscape, breaking barriers and inspiring future generations. As the Founder and CEO of Centre Point Multisolutions and Tech Terminal, she is reshaping how women are represented and valued in the tech industry, proving that gender is no obstacle to success.
Born on April 16, 1988, in Owerri, Imo State, Nnedinma grew up in a traditional setting that did not emphasize technology. Despite this, she was always interested in the potential of tech. Her education journey took her from local schools in Owerri to prestigious institutions like the American International School in Abuja and Queens College in Lagos. However, it was her experiences abroad that truly ignited her passion for technology.
In 2016, Nnedinma moved to the UK to earn a BSc in Accounting from Reading University, followed by an MSc in Finance from Aston Business School. During her time in the UK, she used her summer breaks to teach junior students essential computer skills, which were becoming increasingly crucial in today’s job market. This early involvement in IT education was the foundation for her future initiatives.
While initially pursuing a dream to become a pilot, Nnedinma realized her true calling lay in technology. She shifted gears and enrolled in New Horizon Computer School to earn her CompTIA A+ certification, solidifying her tech credentials.
Nnedinma’s career began at Invita Capital in the UK, where she served as an assistant to the CFO. Here, she honed her business skills and even collaborated with Avila Foods UK to launch “Simply Africa,” the first West African packaged ready-meal brand in UK stores.
Despite her success overseas, her heart remained in Nigeria. In 2016, she began to balance her time between the UK and her home country, taking over her mother’s computer training institution, Centre Point Network, which partnered with Aptech Global, an Indian IT training organization. After the loss of her mother in 2017, Nnedinma made the bold decision to return to Nigeria full-time in 2019 and enhance the IT training center.
Today, Nnedinma is the only woman overseeing five Aptech training centers in West Africa, a remarkable achievement in a predominantly male industry. Her centers, located in cities like Owerri, Enugu, Aba, and Onitsha, have trained over 3,000 students, helping many secure reputable positions in the tech sector.
Nnedinma’s mission is to bridge the skills gap in West Africa by offering comprehensive IT training tailored to industry needs. Her institutions provide over 50 different courses ranging from web design to programming, ensuring students are well-equipped for the digital economy. One of her standout programs is the Advanced Diploma in Computer Science, which allows students to earn a degree in three years through a combination of local and international study.
Beyond education, Nnedinma is dedicated to community development. She has launched charitable grants, scholarships, and workshops aimed at empowering youth in Imo State. Through her Heart of Gold Foundation, she supports underprivileged communities and promotes social change using technology.
Nnedinma Obioha stands as a testament to what is achievable when passion meets purpose. Her journey reflects not just personal triumph but also the power women hold in transforming the tech landscape in Nigeria and Africa. As she continues to break new ground, Nnedinma is set to pave the way for a future where technology is accessible to all and women’s contributions are celebrated.
