African footballer of the year Victor Osimhen has been dropped to the bench by Nigeria’s interim boss Augustine Eguavoen as he preferred Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface to lead the attack.
Boniface gets the nod ahead of the forward who just completed his loan move to Turkish side Galatasaray.
Stanley Nwabali starts in goal as Aina, Ajayi Bassey and Ekong who wear the armband start in defence.
Wilfred Ndidi, Bruno Onyeamachi and Alex Iwobi make the Midfield trio as both Chukwueze and Ballon D’Or nominee Ademola Lookman flank Boniface from both wings.
Osimhen’s place on the bench is basically due to the fact of loss of match fitness as the forward has yet to play a match since May.
