A tragic accident involving multiple vehicles occurred on the Odo Iya-Alaro Bridge in Lagos during the early hours of today, leaving one person dead and 17 others injured.
The accident, which happened around12:30 AM, involved a series of vehicles, according to eyewitness reports, the incident resulted in severe damage to several cars, causing significant traffic delays.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), in a press release, confirmed the fatality and injuries, stating that emergency responders swiftly arrived on the scene to offer aid to the victims and clear the wreckage.
Seventeen people sustained varying degrees of injuries and were immediately transported to nearby hospitals for medical attention.
LASTMA officials, along with other emergency services, are currently investigating the cause of the accident, while also urging motorists to drive with caution, especially during late hours to avoid similar incidents.
