The Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has expanded its Enrollment Drive Campaign to Benue Zone A, focusing on increasing enrollment rates and educating key stakeholders about the government’s dedication to quality education for all school-age children.
During the launch event held in Vandeikya LGA, SUBEB’s Executive Chairman, Dr. Grace Adagba, praised Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia for making education a priority in his administration. Represented by the Board Secretary, Dr. Joseph Jande, Dr. Adagba emphasized the importance of providing every child in Benue State with access to quality basic education, ranging from Early Childhood Care Development Education (ECCDE) to public primary and junior secondary schools.
“The future of our children lies in education. We urge parents, guardians, and community leaders to work hand in hand with the government to ensure every child receives a basic education,” Dr. Adagba said.
The Honourable Commissioner for Education and Knowledge Management, Rev. Dr. Frederick Ikyaan, officially declared the event open, stressing the need for stakeholder collaboration to ensure children in Benue State are prepared for the opportunities of the 21st century.
UBEC State Coordinator, Mr. Idzi Baba Emmanuel, reassured parents that the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) remains committed to enhancing public education, while community leaders and religious representatives encouraged parents to enroll their children in public schools to secure their future.
The Enrollment Drive Campaign is part of SUBEB’s efforts to address the challenge of out-of-school children in Benue, with strong support from various stakeholders united for a better-educated state.
