On September 8, 2024, the Redeemers’ Men’s Fellowship (Anchor 2024) unveiled its plans to support its members in starting small-scale businesses. This initiative aims to help individuals navigate the challenging economic environment in Nigeria.

Charles Okeibunor, the General Secretary of the fellowship, announced the initiative during the second edition of their fellowship programme in Lagos. The event, themed “Evidence of His Glory,” focused on providing practical support to members. The fellowship plans to assist in various business areas, including dry cleaning and transportation, by supplying necessary items for starting and running these businesses.

Pastor ‘Biyi Famoyegun, the convener of the programme and Pastor-in-charge of Province 16 of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, highlighted the importance of four key areas in the life of believers: family, finance, fitness, and faith. He emphasized that a stable foundation in these areas is essential for leading a fulfilling and impactful life.

Famoyegun explained that the vision for this initiative was inspired by a divine revelation a year ago. The programme’s goal is to gather men annually to share in God’s blessings and strengthen their roles within their families. This year’s event follows the success of the first edition, which was themed “Still Standing,” and aims to continue supporting members amid current challenges.

The fellowship’s focus on small businesses is particularly timely given the economic difficulties faced by many Nigerians. By equipping members with the tools and resources to start their own businesses, the initiative hopes to lift many out of poverty and improve their financial stability.

The support offered includes providing essential items for businesses such as dry cleaning and transportation services. This practical assistance is designed to give members a head start in their entrepreneurial ventures and help them achieve financial independence.

The RCCG’s initiative reflects a broader commitment to improving the lives of its members by addressing pressing economic challenges and fostering self-sufficiency. As the programme progresses, it will be crucial to monitor its impact and the success of the businesses started with its support.
