The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has urged the opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to refrain from resorting to deceit and intimidation as tactics in their electoral campaigns.
Dr. Marindoti Oludare, who serves as the Director of Contact and Engagement for the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation’s Foot Soldiers Independent Council (LACO-FSIC), has called on the PDP to concentrate on campaigning based on actual issues.
Oludare, a physician and socio-political advocate, criticized the PDP for what he termed “bioterrorism through misinformation” by alleging that Akure, the state capital, has descended into filth, labeling these claims as unfounded.
In defense of the recent appointment of 344 new aides, the campaign organization clarified that this initiative is focused on empowering individuals and fostering development within the state.
“The recent remarks from the PDP regarding Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s appointments are utterly ridiculous,” Oludare remarked.
“I find it unnecessary to dignify their unfounded claims that Ondo State lacks completed projects, especially when numerous initiatives are currently underway. Their obsession with expecting the governor to construct a skyscraper in just eight months only highlights their misunderstanding of the time required for developmental efforts.”
He expressed disappointment that the opposition is resorting to such desperate measures to gain attention by tarnishing “our cherished state capital with fabrications.”
“Their assertion that Akure is a ‘decomposing dumping ground’ and their desire for an ‘imminent disease outbreak’ is not only deceptive but also underscores the heartlessness of the PDP’s nature.
“It’s troubling that, in their pursuit of power, they would wish for a public health crisis to befall the good people of Ondo State, without any substantial evidence.”
Oludare called upon the residents of Ondo State to evaluate the PDP based on this “inhumane position: wishing for calamity as a political weapon, which is cheap, irresponsible, and unworthy of any serious political organization.”
“One might even question whether the PDP is contemplating some form of bioterrorism to harm the residents of Ondo State solely to blame the governor for their fabricated crisis,” he emphasized.
Justifying the recent mass appointments, Oludare noted that the Aiyedatiwa administration understands that human capital, alongside natural resources, is vital for the state’s transformation.
“These appointments are part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at large-scale human capital development, focused on generating employment and driving economic change.
“This is exactly what the PDP despises—they cannot tolerate the governor’s commitment to job creation and development.
“Let it be clear, insincere critiques and fear tactics will not secure electoral victories for the PDP.
“The people of Ondo are astute and expect more than unfounded attacks from their leaders.
Rather than spreading panic and misinformation, the PDP should present clear and actionable plans for our state’s improvement—if they have any.
“The citizens of Ondo deserve leaders who are visionary and genuinely care for their welfare, not those who engage in fearmongering and deceit.
“The PDP has revealed their true nature, and the people of Ondo will not be influenced by such trivial, uninspiring rhetoric,” Oludare concluded.
