Former President Muhammadu Buhari has extended his heartfelt condolences to the governments and people of Borno and other affected states following devastating floods caused by relentless rainfall, calling it a national disaster.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, Buhari acknowledged the extensive damage to homes, farmland, and the tragic loss of life in Borno and across several other states.

He expressed hope that the relief efforts by various governments would offer comfort and aid to those who have lost loved ones and their means of livelihood, helping them return to their normal lives.

“My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this natural disaster,” the statement from the former president read.
