Popular food critic Opeyemi Famakin has raised alarm on social media, accusing entertainment mogul, Cubana Chiefpriest, of issuing a threat to his life over a critical review of his restaurant.

Famakin, known for his candid food reviews, shared his experience after visiting Chiefpriest’s restaurant in Imo State on September 11, 2024. In a post, he praised the restaurant’s ambience but noted that pre-made pastries being microwaved was a drawback.

Initially, the review appeared to be well received, with Chiefpriest commenting under Famakin’s post, “Thank you for visiting, Foodie. Wishing you all the best!”

However, the situation escalated on September 12 when Famakin took to Instagram to accuse Chiefpriest of sending him a threatening message in response to his review.

To substantiate his claims, Famakin posted screenshots of their private conversation, where Chiefpriest allegedly wrote, “Karma is real, you must pay for whatever you sow in life. I don’t fight lowlifes, I leave them to karma. The business you did your wicked review for is owned by a 6-year-old.”

In his caption, Famakin expressed concern for his safety, stating, “I know a threat when I see one. I guess it’s time to leave Imo State ASAP. If anything happens to me while I am here, well, you know who to hold.”

He also highlighted the contrast between Chief Priest’s public comment and the private messages, saying, “I love how he was polite in the comment section for the world to see, but it was a different tone in my DMs.”

As of the time of this report, Cubana Chiefpriest has not made any public statement addressing the allegations.
