The Federal Government has declared Monday, September 16, 2024, as a public holiday to commemorate Eid-ul-Mawlid, the celebration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the federal government in a statement issued by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, on Friday.
In his message, the minister congratulated the Muslim Ummah and encouraged them to use the occasion to pray for lasting peace and a more prosperous, equitable nation.
He also called on Muslims and all Nigerians to embrace the values of patience, sacrifice, and resilience during the period.
