President Bola Tinubu has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Nigerian Muslims on the occasion of Maulud Nabiy, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
In a statement released on Sunday by Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Tinubu called on Muslims to use the celebration for deep reflection and to honor the exemplary life and teachings of the Prophet.
“As we commemorate the Maulud, it is important to reflect on the virtuous life of Prophet Muhammad, marked by purity, selflessness, perseverance, kindness, and compassion. These are qualities we should all strive to embody,” Tinubu said.
He further encouraged Muslims to dedicate the holiday to prayers for the nation’s progress and to demonstrate empathy and compassion toward one another.
Meanwhile, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, declared Monday as a public holiday in observance of this year’s Eid Maulud celebration.
