Mr. Joseph Eribo has resumed duty as the new Commissioner of Police for the Akwa Ibom State Police Command.
He takes over from Mr. Waheed Ayilara, a lawyer, who died following a surgical operation in Lagos, last month.
Mr. Eribo is a 56 year-old indigene of Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State.
He studied Law at the great University of Benin.
Mr. Eribo was born 26th November, 1968 and enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police on 26th June, 1994.
He was promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police on 18th September, 2023.
Before his posting to Akwa Ibom, Mr. Eribo has been Commissioner of Police, Taraba State, where he made Taraba too hot for criminals.
During his tenure in January this year, Police officers from Taraba State Command rejected N8.5 million offered to them as a bribe by kidnappers.
