The Indigenous Destiny Trust Foundation has launched “Kids Innovation Africa,” a program designed to equip children, particularly those from underserved communities, with essential skills in coding, design, robotics, and the arts.
The program’s goal is to provide young minds with the tools and platform to shape the future and create innovative solutions to global challenges. The recent event showcased the hard work and talents of the young participants, who presented their inventions and ideas, demonstrating a deep understanding of how technology can address societal problems.
According to the organizers, Kids Innovation Africa offers free and low-cost access to technology and art education, ensuring that children from disadvantaged backgrounds are not left behind in the digital age. “The Destiny Trust doesn’t just bring out a gift from a child, but others benefit from it, and that makes them unique,” said Mrs. Toyin Olanrewaju, the Chief Operations Officer at Gamaliel and Susan Onosode Foundation (GAMSU), one of the program’s partners.
The founder of the Destiny Trust, Mr. Abimbola Ojenike, emphasized the importance of equipping underprivileged children with in-demand skills, particularly in the field of technology.
“For us at The Destiny Trust, we focus on children from underserved backgrounds, families, and the less privileged. We understand that the very best way we can empower them is by giving them skills that are in demand,” he said.
The Destiny Trust’s approach goes beyond simply enrolling children in schools; it recognizes the need to provide them with tangible, long-term skills to prepare them for the digital future.
