Biliamin Oba, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, has encouraged Nigerians to be mindful of their spending as the nation grapples with ongoing economic difficulties.
Oba shared this message during the 2024 International Youth Day event, organized by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in the Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA) on Tuesday in Badagry.
As a former Chairman of NYCN Lagos, Oba stressed the need for collective action in response to the current economic climate.
“It’s essential that we start trimming our expenses until we see signs of stability,” he stated.
“Costs for transportation and the overall cost of living have surged dramatically. We must be strategic in our spending. The current circumstances have placed a significant strain on our lives, necessitating a more economical approach.”
He expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s plans for the nation, adding that Governor Sanwo-Olu is diligently working to ensure that Lagos continues to thrive as a premier destination for all.
Oba also praised Ashade Abdulsalam for successfully organizing the event aimed at empowering the youth within the council.
