In a swift operation carried out by the Nigerian Police Force, four armed robbers were apprehended late tonight on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The robbers, who had been terrorizing motorists along the highway, were intercepted by the police following a distress call from a driver.

According to eyewitnesses, the robbers had been targeting vehicles, especially commercial buses, and robbing passengers of their valuables. The timely intervention of the police, who arrived at the scene after a tip-off, led to a heated exchange of gunfire. However, the robbers were overpowered and arrested.

No casualties were reported during the operation, and the police assured commuters of their safety as patrols have been intensified along the highway. This arrest comes amidst heightened efforts by security agencies to curb the rising incidents of robbery in the region.

Motorists are encouraged to use the highway cautiously, especially during late hours, while the suspects are expected to be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
