Newly evicted Big Brother Naija Season 9 contestant, Benjamin Olufemi, popularly known as Ben, has shed light on his decision to leave the United Kingdom and join the reality show.

Ben, a nightlife promoter, was evicted on Sunday from Big Brother Naija’s ongoing ‘No Loose Guard’ edition. Speaking to journalists during an interview on Wednesday, he disclosed that his primary reason for participating in the show was to promote his business.

He explained, “First and foremost, I’m not doing a 9 to 5 job. Tjay reached out to me and said to pair us up. So I would not have come if I was doing a 9 to 5 or under a student’s visa.”

Ben, who holds permanent residency in the UK, further highlighted that his job in nightlife offered him the flexibility to pursue the opportunity. “But I’m a permanent resident in the UK, so nightlife is on the weekend. I came for Big Brother to push my nightlife 100%. To sell myself. I tell people that I organise parties, and people would come to my parties.”

He added that his name had become synonymous with vibrant parties, stating, “People now even use the tagline, ‘Action Ben, no party.’ But the most difficult part for me was I had to pay all my bills before coming.”

Ben’s exit from the house marked the end of his quest for the N120 million grand prize, but his focus remains on leveraging his newfound fame to further boost his career in the nightlife industry.
