Rabiu Kwankwaso, the prominent leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has expressed his ambition to assume the presidency in order to liberate Nigeria from its current economic challenges.

During a recent visit to the Osun State Party Secretariat over the weekend, Kwankwaso emphasized the importance of revitalizing state chapters for smoother and more effective governance.

He also outlined the party’s strategy to empower its state branches as part of their plan to challenge the All Progressives Congress (APC) for power in the upcoming 2027 elections.

This information was shared in a statement released by the State Party Chairman, Dr. Tosin Odeyemi, on Friday.

Represented by a three-member delegation, Kwankwaso assured that the NNPP remains steadfast as a viable opposition force, committed to alleviating the economic hardships faced by the populace.

He remarked, “Reports from various states, particularly Osun, fill me with optimism as the national leader. We are fully aware of the hurdles that lie ahead as we approach 2027, but we are ready to tackle them.”

Kwankwaso pointed out that Nigerians have begun to recognize how past leaders have exploited poverty to manipulate citizens, promising them mere pittance in exchange for their support in 2027. “I am not here to mislead them; my goal is to rescue our nation from this dire situation.”

He further affirmed, “The NNPP is dedicated to the welfare of the masses. We have commenced mobilization efforts across the country. Our state secretariats are being enhanced, and we are providing vehicles to facilitate their operations.”
