Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are currently absent at the polling unit of the PDP’s governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo.

The usually vibrant Idinrio community in Ewohimi, Esan South East Local Government Area, appeared calm and quiet, with little sign of activity.

A resident remarked, “This is unusual. By this time, we expected to see the INEC officials setting up. It’s concerning.”

Our correspondent, who is on the ground at the polling unit, confirmed that there was no sign of INEC officials or representatives from other political parties. “I’ve been here since early morning, but there’s no sign of any electoral officials or party stakeholders,” the correspondent reported.

Voters who had gathered expressed their frustration over the situation, with one potential voter stating, “We came out early to exercise our civic duty, but it’s disheartening to see no officials here. We hope they arrive soon.”

The absence of INEC officials has raised concerns about the commencement of the voting process, as residents continue to wait for further updates.
