American pop icon Lady Gaga has revealed why she chose not to address persistent rumors suggesting she is transgender.

In a candid interview with Variety, the singer explained that her decision was rooted in her desire not to perpetuate the idea that being transgender is something shameful.

“I didn’t feel like a victim with that lie, and I thought: What about a kid who is being accused of that who would think that a public figure like me would feel shame?” Gaga said, emphasizing her focus on protecting the well-being of others.

She added, “I’ve been in situations where fixing a rumour was not in the best interest and the well-being of other people.”

The multi-talented singer recently made headlines when she announced her engagement to French entrepreneur Michael Polansky. In a touching revelation, Gaga shared that it was her mother who introduced her to her now-fiancé.
