Diddy’s Children in Shock as Music Mogul Faces Serious Charges After Speaking to Them from Jail

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ children are reportedly grappling with shock and confusion following their father’s arrest and indictment on serious charges.

The 54-year-old music icon, who was taken into custody on September 16, faces allegations of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transporting individuals for prostitution. Despite pleading not guilty, he has been denied bail twice.

An insider told PEOPLE that Diddy, who is father to seven children — Quincy, 33, Justin, 30, Christian, 26, Chance, 18, Jessie and D’Lila, 17, and Love, 23 months — has managed to briefly speak with his family from jail.

“He is very concerned about his kids and their well-being,” the source revealed. “He has three minor children, and two of them now have no living parent available with him incarcerated. In total, four of his seven children have neither parent available during this time.”

Combs shares three of his children — Christian, Jessie, and D’Lila — with the late model Kim Porter, who passed away in 2018. He also adopted Quincy, Porter’s son with Al B. Sure!. His son Justin is from a previous relationship with stylist Misa Hylton, while Chance is the daughter of Sarah Chapman. His youngest child, Love, was born to Dana Tran in October 2022.

A second source close to the family revealed that the Combs children are in a “state of crisis and shock” following their father’s arrest. “It’s heartbreaking to see the children in the state they’re in. This is their father. To them, he’s not Diddy — he’s Dad, and he’s always been a loving and devoted father.”

The charges against Combs are grave, with prosecutors accusing him of organizing long, orchestrated sex acts known as “freak offs,” which allegedly took place over several days and involved drug use. Authorities allege Combs used substances like cocaine, ketamine, and oxycodone to coerce women into participating, with some events even captured on camera without the victims’ consent.

When his homes in Los Angeles and Miami were raided earlier in the year, authorities reportedly recovered over 1,000 bottles of baby oil among the alleged “freak-off supplies.”

Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, submitted a $50 million bail package, which was rejected. Agnifilo mentioned that Combs is undergoing “treatment and therapy for things that… he needs treatment and therapy for,” without specifying further due to confidentiality.

Outside the courtroom, Agnifilo stated, “He’s going to fight this with all of his energy and the full confidence of his lawyers. I expect a long battle with a good result for Mr. Combs.”

The next hearing is scheduled for October 9 at 2 p.m.
