Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum and the Governor of Imo State, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, following his impressive victory in the recent gubernatorial election.
Uzodimma commended the citizens of Edo State for their enthusiastic participation in the election, casting their votes for Sen. Okpebholo as their selected leader.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially announced Okpebholo as the winner on Sunday, September 22, after a closely contested election held on September 21, 2024. He emerged victorious against his main rivals, Asue Ighodalo from the People’s Democratic Party and Olumide Akpata representing the Labour Party.
In a post on his social media accoun, Governor Uzodimma celebrated both the Governor-elect and the electorate of Edo State for placing their trust in the APC’s vision for sustainable development and progress within the state and across Nigeria.
He stated: “On behalf of our esteemed party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the Progressive Governors’ Forum, I offer my warmest congratulations to Senator Monday Okpebholo on his remarkable election as the Governor-elect of Edo State.
