The Adamawa State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the recently announced results of the Edo State governorship election, labeling it as a blatant act of theft.

During a press conference held on Tuesday afternoon in Yola, the party called on the appropriate PDP offices in both Abuja and Edo State to act swiftly in pursuing legal action.

Ahmed Shehu, the Chairman of the Adamawa State PDP, delivered the statement at the party’s secretariat in Yola. He expressed solidarity with the party’s national chairman, Umar Damagum, and the PDP governors, asserting that the Edo election was severely compromised.

Shehu reiterated support for the results shared by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, the chairman of the Edo PDP National Campaign Council, which claimed that the PDP candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, received the most votes.

“We strongly condemn the All Progressives Congress (APC) for resorting to desperate measures, including violent manipulation, to undermine the will of the Edo populace,” stated Ahmed Shehu.

He further remarked that the “egregious political theft by the APC” poses a grave threat to Nigeria’s democracy and could exacerbate the existing political apathy among the citizens.

“We want to emphasize our unwavering support for our national party leadership in taking any necessary legal actions to reclaim the stolen mandate in Edo State,” he affirmed.
