The Occupational Safety and Health Council (OSHC) in Hong Kong is inviting students to apply for a scholarship focused on workplace safety. This initiative aims to encourage students to explore the vital field of occupational safety and health.

Occupational safety and health (OSH) encompasses the study of designing safe workplaces, preventing accidents and injuries, maintaining worker health, and understanding relevant laws and regulations. Effective OSH practices yield numerous benefits, including reduced workplace accidents and injuries, lower healthcare costs, increased productivity, and improved worker morale.

The OSH Best Project Scholarship recognizes outstanding research projects related to occupational safety and health. Successful applicants will receive a cash prize and a Certificate of Merit. Additionally, their projects may be shared publicly, providing an opportunity for students to showcase their work.

To be eligible, students must be enrolled in a Hong Kong program and have completed an OSH-related research project during the 2024 academic year. Interested students should submit a completed application form, a copy of their research project report or dissertation, and a brief project summary.

The application deadline is September 30, 2024. Further information about the scholarship can be found on the OSH Council website. This initiative underscores the importance of promoting occupational safety and health awareness among students and fostering a safer working environment in Hong Kong.
