Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), has stepped forward with a generous donation of N2 million to support the families of five police officers who tragically lost their lives in an accident while returning to Kano after overseeing the Edo State governorship election.

In addition to this, Ganduje contributed N1 million each to ten other individuals who suffered various injuries in the same incident.

Expressing his deep sorrow and disbelief, Ganduje conveyed his condolences regarding the untimely deaths of the officers, who were returning from their official duties in Edo State. He made these remarks during a visit to the families of the deceased in Bichi town, Kano.

“We have gathered here not for a celebration but to extend our sympathies to the families, the Inspector General of Police, and the entire Kano community for the tragic loss of these brave officers who died while fulfilling their national responsibilities,” he stated.

Ganduje emphasized the importance of standing by families in mourning, highlighting that it is a longstanding tradition of the APC and his administration to provide support and comfort during such difficult times.

He reflected on the incident as a sorrowful moment for both the police force and the nation, noting that five officers lost their lives instantly, while ten others sustained injuries of varying severity.

“The magnitude of this loss compelled me to visit Bichi personally, to honor the memory of these courageous individuals who lost their lives in the line of duty,” he remarked.

While recognizing the historical significance of Bichi as a First Class Emirate Council, Ganduje reaffirmed his commitment to the community.

Accompanying him was Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, who shared that the incident struck a personal chord with him. He expressed his sorrow for the families affected, stating, “As a representative of Bichi, I view this loss as a personal tragedy, one that deeply affects me and my constituents.”
