President Bola Tinubu has called upon Nigerians to ensure that past errors do not hinder the nation’s progress moving forward.

The President emphasized that his administration’s reforms are essential for Nigeria to realize its potential as one of the world’s leading nations, a destiny he believes has been ordained by God.

Delivering a national broadcast in honor of the 64th Independence Day, Tinubu articulated that these reforms are crucial for securing a prosperous future for all citizens.

Reflecting on Nigeria’s history, he reminded listeners that the nation’s founders opted for democracy 64 years ago, with the aspiration to create a great nation capable of guiding Africa away from poverty and ignorance.

He highlighted that since gaining independence in 1960, Nigeria has weathered numerous crises and challenges, which have led to the collapse of many countries globally.

According to the President, Nigeria has made significant strides in appreciating its diversity and managing its differences, as citizens strive to foster a more perfect union.

“Our Independence Day is an opportunity to assess our journey in nation-building and reaffirm our dedication to creating a better Nigeria for both current and future generations,” he stated.

“While we celebrate the achievements of the past 64 years, it is equally important to acknowledge our past missteps and lost opportunities.

“To become one of the greatest nations on earth, as destined by God, we must not allow our past mistakes to dictate our future,” he concluded.
