On Saturday, a significant number of supporters gathered to welcome Tinok Andrew Nok, a senatorial candidate for the 2023 elections, as she transitioned from the New Nigeria Peoples Party to the Labour Party in Kaduna State.

Tinok, sister of the former Kaduna State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Andrew Nok, expressed her belief that the Labour Party aligns with her values of integrity and public service.

“My choice to join the Labour Party was heavily influenced by Senator Nnadi Usman, the National Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party,” she stated, promising to apply her extensive experience to enhance the party’s influence and development in Kaduna State.

As she was welcomed into the party, Jonathan Asake, the Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate for 2023 and representative of Senator Nnadi Usman, assured attendees that the party is undergoing a transformation and intends to utilize her skills to establish itself as a formidable force both in the state and nationally.

He encouraged Tinok to leverage her experience to help reposition the Labour Party in Kaduna.

The event also included the distribution of Labour Party flags in preparation for the local government elections scheduled for October 19.

Tinok’s switch is regarded as a major advantage for the Labour Party in Kaduna State as the elections approach. The large crowd present at the event highlighted the excitement and hopeful sentiment surrounding her move.

Political analysts anticipate that this development could lead to a shift in power dynamics within Kaduna State, with the Labour Party’s increasing momentum poised to affect the political scene significantly.
