The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack, has reintroduced the civil service anthem for federal workers, aimed at motivating civil servants and driving necessary reforms within the service.
Originally launched in 2018, the anthem seeks to foster a spirit of dedication and commitment among civil servants. In a recent meeting with media executives in Abuja, Walson-Jack emphasized the importance of the civil service in fulfilling the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
“The office is guided by the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan for 2021-2025, which we are actively pursuing. However, we are committed to infusing creativity and innovation to expedite this plan,” she stated.
Walson-Jack highlighted the six pillars representing ongoing reforms, emphasizing the need for comprehensive coverage to facilitate swift implementation and ensure the federal civil service effectively contributes to the Renewed Hope Agenda.
She expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his support in the ongoing reforms, noting, “We are working on various initiatives, but we are particularly looking forward to our 100 days in office.”
The reintroduced civil service anthem is expected to be embraced by all civil and public servants, as well as by Nigerians at large. Walson-Jack stated, “The anthem will serve as a rallying call for public servants to internalize its lyrics, which emphasize efficiency, productivity, integrity, and a citizen-centered approach.”
