Chelsea’s rising star, Cole Palmer, has been awarded the title of EA SPORTS Player of the Month for September 2024. Just days after being recognized as England’s Men’s Player of the Year, Palmer’s remarkable achievements continue to make headlines.

The talented forward has also been acknowledged as the Premier League Player of the Month, complementing the recognition of his manager, Enzo Maresca, who secured the Manager of the Month award for the same timeframe.

Palmer dominated the Premier League last month, leading in both goals scored and overall goal contributions. In four matches, he netted five goals and provided one assist.

Remarkably, four of those goals were scored in a stunning 21-minute burst against Brighton & Hove Albion, marking him as the first player in Premier League history to score four times within the first half of a single match.

Beyond his exceptional performance against Brighton, Palmer also contributed an assist in a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace and added a goal in a commanding 3-0 victory over West Ham United.

Chelsea signed him from Manchester City during the 2023 Summer Transfer window and he has been a bright spark since his arrival, with this POTM Award adding to his growing collection of individual awards since coming to the club.

This marks Palmer’s second EA SPORTS Player of the Month award, having previously won it in April 2024. He has now claimed two of the last three awards available, with only Frank Lampard holding more wins at Chelsea, with four in total.

At just 22 years old, Palmer emerged as the standout candidate from an eight-man shortlist, determined by a combination of public votes on the EA SPORTS website and insights from a panel of football experts.

Having already kicked off October with an assist in a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest, Palmer aims to enhance his impressive tally of 11 goal involvements this season as Chelsea prepares to face Liverpool in their next Premier League match on Sunday, October 20.
