The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed discontent over the state government’s refusal to allow them to use Democracy Park for their upcoming governorship campaign kick-off on October 15.
PDP Campaign Organization spokesperson, Mr Ayo Fadaka, criticized Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s administration for its perceived intolerance toward opposition parties. He noted that this denial marks a departure from past administrations, particularly under former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, who never barred any political party from using public spaces.
Fadaka stated, “This pedestrian action shows the indecorous approach of Governor Aiyedatiwa to governance,” and assured that the PDP will still hold its event in Akure, despite any inconvenience caused. He emphasized that the party remains undeterred and confident of victory in the upcoming election.
