The Presidency has clarified that President Bola Tinubu is currently on a two-week leave and is not confined to any specific location during this period.

This statement comes in response to the controversy surrounding the President’s recent journey from the United Kingdom to France.

President Tinubu initially left Abuja on October 2 for a vacation in the UK, which was described as a working retreat aimed at reflecting on his administration’s economic reforms.

However, his unexpected trip to France has generated public curiosity and speculation.

Addressing these concerns, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy, emphasized that the President is free to travel beyond the UK during his leave. “President Tinubu is on a two-week leave. He is not restricted to the UK. This is his private time, and he can go wherever he wishes. He is still on leave,” Onanuga stated.

Prior to his departure for France, President Tinubu had engaged in “productive discussions” with his Special Assistant, Ibrahim Kabir Masari, at his private residence in the UK. Masari shared details of their meeting through his verified account on X, indicating that they addressed significant issues before heading to Paris.

The President’s initial journey to the UK was publicly announced as part of his annual leave, extending over two weeks.
