Abia State Governor Alex Otti has urged Nigerian youth to actively participate in politics to shape their own destinies and effect meaningful change.
Otti made this appeal during a church service at The Transforming Church (TTC) in Abuja on Sunday. He emphasized that every community requires the leadership it deserves, warning that if young people remain passive, politicians will make all the decisions on their behalf.
Citing Psalms 62:11, the governor reminded the audience that power ultimately belongs to God and encouraged young people not to shy away from pursuing positions of influence.
“I challenge all the young individuals present today: don’t shy away from politics. This is where the decisions that impact your future are made,” he stated.
He highlighted that political power enables individuals to drive significant changes that can greatly benefit their communities. “Holding a political office allows you to positively impact more lives than you might think,” he noted.
Otti shared his personal journey, revealing that he transitioned from the banking sector to politics in 2014 with the aim of making a difference through innovative approaches.
As the governor of Abia State, he emphasized that a single decision could affect the entire state’s population. He encouraged Christians to combine their prayers with diligent efforts to turn their dreams and aspirations into reality.
