The National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the indefinite postponement of the party’s ward, local government, and state congresses for its Rivers State chapter.

This decision was communicated through a statement released by Felix Morka, the party’s national publicity secretary, on Tuesday.

Morka did not provide any specific reasons for the postponement of the congresses, which were initially set to begin on Saturday.

The official statement noted, “The elective congresses for the APC Rivers State Chapter, originally scheduled for October 26, 2024 (Ward Congress), November 2, 2024 (Local Government Area Congress), and November 9, 2024 (State Congress), have been postponed.”

The statement further indicated, “New dates for the congresses will be announced in due time.”

Additionally, the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms for candidates aspiring to various party positions, which commenced on Wednesday, October 9, has concluded as of Friday, October 18.
