The Coalition of Critical Youth Stakeholders within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State has expressed its strong support for Ambassador Umar Ilya Damagum, advocating for his confirmation as the party’s national chairman. During a press conference in Bauchi, coalition chairman Sagir Sardauna urged all party members to set aside their differences and rally behind Damagum to effectively lead the party moving forward.

Sardauna emphasized Damagum’s loyalty to the PDP since 1998, highlighting the importance of unity as the party prepares for future challenges. The coalition also called on all supporters of the PDP to actively participate in the upcoming gubernatorial elections in Ondo, Osun, and Anambra states.

“Damagum has been a dedicated member of the PDP for over two decades and has consistently demonstrated his commitment to the party’s success. He fully backed the PDP presidential candidate during the 2023 elections, standing firm against other aspirants throughout the process,” Sardauna remarked.

He noted that under Damagum’s leadership, the PDP achieved a historic victory in Yobe State, marking the first time the party secured a win there.

He criticized those opposing Damagum, asserting that they failed to deliver in their polling units, with some supporting candidates from the Labour Party and others from the APC in their respective states.
