Ahmad Amadi, a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Sokoto State, has commended Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike for his initiative to bring party members together, not just in Sokoto but across the entire nation.

On Thursday, Amadi expressed that Wike’s efforts are timely and crucial in preventing supporters from defecting after electoral losses. As the Chairman of the Advocacy Forum for Good Candidate, a PDP support group in Sokoto, he emphasized that this unity initiative is designed to strengthen the party rather than create any divisions.

Amadi elaborated that his forum has launched an empowerment program aimed at promoting cohesion and productive participation among party members throughout Sokoto State and beyond. This initiative seeks to offer business support and essential livelihood skills to loyal party members across all 23 local government areas in the state.

“Following the PDP’s defeat in the 2023 governorship election and several other positions, many influential party members have not been actively engaging with grassroots supporters,” Amadi noted. “This disconnect could lead to a loss of loyalty, making Wike’s initiative vital for ensuring that members remain committed to the party for future elections.”

He encouraged party loyalists to familiarize themselves with the party’s positions, structures, and leadership at all levels, stressing that the initiative aims to enhance brotherhood among members.

Amadi urged women and youth to take full advantage of the empowerment opportunities provided, highlighting that such initiatives are essential for fostering self-reliance.

He further praised Wike for prioritizing member welfare ahead of the upcoming elections and cautioned against any actions that might threaten the party’s unity within the state and nationwide.
