Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, has been appointed as the Chairman of the National Campaign Council established by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to spearhead the party’s efforts in the upcoming governorship election in Ondo State.

This announcement was made in a statement released by Sulaiman Argungu, the National Organising Secretary of the APC, on Thursday.

The governorship election in Ondo is set to take place on November 16.

Sanwo-Olu will lead a robust council of 305 members, utilizing his extensive leadership experience from Lagos to shape the campaign strategies and activities aimed at securing victory.

He will be assisted by former Deputy Senate President Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who will serve as the secretary of the council. Other notable APC leaders involved include Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State, Governor Dapo Abiodun, and George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

The statement included, “The National Working Committee, headed by Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has given its approval for the formation of the Ondo State National Gubernatorial Campaign Council.

“The inauguration ceremony for the Ondo State National Gubernatorial Campaign Council is scheduled to take place at the International Event Centre (The Dome) in Akure, Ondo State, on October 28.”
