Abdullahi Ganduje, the former Governor of Kano State, has expressed strong support for President Bola Tinubu, asserting that the President is effectively addressing the economic challenges faced by Nigerians.
He believes that Tinubu’s implementation of impactful reforms is bolstering the nation’s economy and that he merits significant support from the South West region.
Ganduje made these comments during the inauguration of the 305-member National Campaign Council for the upcoming governorship election in Ondo State, which is scheduled for November 16. The event took place in Akure.
As the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ganduje emphasized the importance of rallying behind Tinubu, noting that as a leader hailing from the South West, it is crucial to secure a positive outcome for the APC in the election.
He encouraged the campaign council members, led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, to work collaboratively to ensure that the party retains control of Ondo State.
“President Bola Tinubu is doing commendable work for our country. His reforms are aimed at strengthening our institutions for the social and economic progress of Nigeria. We hold him in high regard,” he stated.
Addressing the political landscape in the South West and the forthcoming election, Ganduje remarked, “Ondo State must uphold APC governance through democratic avenues. Given that Mr President is from this geopolitical zone, we need to demonstrate our unity and support for him, ensuring our party’s dominance in this region.”
“How can your trousers differ from your agbada? That’s neither appealing nor stylish. This is the time for your political zone to take decisive action through democratic practices.”, He said.
Ganduje urged party members to mobilize effectively to secure victory in the election. “We are here to motivate and support you. Our goal is to create an environment conducive to a free and fair election, and with God’s grace, we will achieve a triumphant outcome for our esteemed party.”
