President Bola Tinubu has introduced an ambitious four-year strategic initiative aimed at revamping the operations of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF) to enhance its effectiveness and maximize its impact on beneficial projects throughout Nigeria.

During an event held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the unveiling of this plan was recognized as a pivotal moment in the history of the NLTF.

Representing President Tinubu, Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, expressed optimism about the strategic framework, which he believes will improve the Federal Government’s engagement with marginalized populations.

“This initiative aligns with President Tinubu’s broader agenda to promote economic growth, bolster security, increase food production, and enhance social services. The National Lottery Trust Fund is envisioned as a vehicle to extend assistance to many Nigerians, particularly those in vulnerable situations,” he stated.

Akume praised the Executive Secretary for his leadership and expressed anticipation for the positive outcomes of this initiative.

In his keynote address, the Executive Secretary, Comrade Tosin Adeyanju, acknowledged the president’s commitment to innovating the lottery sector through the introduction of the Revenue Assurance Platform (RAP), designed to help the industry fulfil its objectives.

“I extend my gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his pivotal role in transforming the lottery landscape in Nigeria by introducing the Revenue Assurance Platform,” he said.

“I am proud to present the NLTF’s four-year strategic plan, which was crafted within my first two months as Executive Secretary/CEO. I sincerely thank Mr. President for the opportunity to serve our beloved nation. As a dedicated Nigerian, I commit to executing my responsibilities in line with the expectations of Mr. President and our fellow citizens. Today signifies a crucial advancement toward fulfilling our mission and enhancing our influence on Nigerian communities, as envisioned by the President.”

Since its inception in 2005, the NLTF has successfully executed over 306 projects nationwide, impacting lives and transforming communities. The fund remains dedicated to promoting good causes and implementing valuable initiatives across various sectors and underserved communities. This strategic plan is designed to align with the current administration’s vision for sustainable development and social welfare.

Senator Victor Umeh, speaking on behalf of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, also commended the Executive Secretary for his remarkable accomplishments shortly after taking office. Umeh expressed confidence in the strategic plan’s capacity to reach new heights.
