Former Publicity Secretary of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Archbishop Emmah Isong, has urged citizens of Akwa Ibom State who intend to make meaningful progress in their endeavours to focus on Jesus Christ, whom he said, remains the author and finisher of the christian faith.
Isong gave the charge at the November edition of the Akwa Ibom State Government House Covenant Service held at the Banquet Hall, Uyo.
In his message anchored on the theme, “Looking unto Jesus,” and taken from the Bible book of Hebrew 12:2, he noted that those who trust in men would always encounter disappointments and frustrations.
Making reference to Jeremiah 17:5 from the Bible, “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the LORD,” he said there is assurance in looking unto Jesus.
Isong, who is the International President, Christian Central Chapel International, Calabar, also made reference to some personal experiences in the ministry, as well as the experience of Peter in the Bible while walking on the water, and called on Akwa Ibom people to continue to look onto Jesus for fulfillment of promises on the land.
The short impacting service had in attendance, the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Mrs Helen Obareki, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Elder Udeme Otong, Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, other government functionaries and many others.
