Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has alleged that opposition members are convening in Abuja and other locations with the intent to mislead the people of Abia through fabricated news about his administration.

He claimed that these opposition figures have devised a method to produce both fake and genuine documents for propaganda purposes.

Otti made these statements during a ceremony at the Government House in Umuahia on Monday, where he swore in the Chairmen and Deputy Chairmen of the 17 local government areas, along with elected councilors.

While refraining from naming specific opposition members, he expressed that his administration is unfazed by such gatherings, noting that previous meetings held by these unnamed individuals ended in failure and will continue to do so.

“I would like to address the so-called opposition who are assembling in Abuja and other venues with the primary goal of misleading the public and distracting this administration,” Otti stated.

“They have honed a tactic to produce fake and sometimes authentic documents to support their false narratives and propaganda.

“Just as the Bible promises, since these gatherings are not divinely inspired, they will ultimately disband. Do not underestimate the people of Abia.

“You have attempted this before and failed. What gives you the confidence that you will succeed this time, especially considering the significant progress made in this state in under 18 months? A word to the wise is sufficient,” Otti cautioned.
