In a statement released on Thursday, November 7, the Nigerian National Grid Agency acknowledged the ongoing challenges with power supply, attributing interruptions to limited generation, transmission, and distribution capacity. “We have observed numerous messages about both regular and irregular supply,” the agency stated on its official X account. “Our generation, transmission, and distribution capacities are nowhere near enough for you to expect uninterrupted power.”

The agency clarified that load shedding—a controlled rotation of supply—remains necessary to manage limited resources. “If the National Grid is stable, you still have to make room for load shedding,” the statement noted, explaining that this measure is crucial for balancing the demand.

Consumers experiencing prolonged delays in power restoration are advised to contact their Distribution Companies (DisCos) for further assistance.
