Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon has declared the door open for their most valuable player Viktor Gyökeres to leave the club anytime soon.

Sporting CP President Varandas has confirmed after the departure of head coach Ruben Amorim who joined Manchester United for a new coaching adventure that Gyökeres can leave anytime the right proposal comes in.

“I can’t promise anything! If a club arrives and pays the release clause, he wants to go, he WILL go”. Varandes said.

Though the door has been opened for the forward to leave anytime, the President reiterated that he is certain that it may not happen in the January transfer window as the battle for the forward will be tense in the summer, considering his blistering start to the season.

“But I do NOT think this will happen in January”. He added.

The 26-year-old Gyökeres has been the most in-form forward in the world, scoring a whopping 16 goals in just eleven league games this season.

He has scored five goals in just four UEFA Champions League games including the hat-trick against Champions Manchester City.

Rubén Amorim has lately insisted on not going back to any Sporting Lisbon player, but Gyökeres has been on Man United’s radar for a while now as they monitor the former Leeds forward.
