As the governorship election in Ondo State approaches, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is doubling down on its efforts to secure a win for its candidate, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, in the upcoming polls.
With the election set for this Saturday, the PDP is reinforcing its organizational framework, rallying support throughout the state, and aligning key stakeholders in a unified effort aimed at electoral triumph.
In pursuit of this objective, party representatives from Ward 7 in the Akoko South West Local Government Area convened in Oka Akoko on Saturday for a crucial meeting, where they unanimously agreed to bolster their backing for the party’s candidate.
The gathering, which included prominent leaders, executive members, and other influential party figures, stressed the vital importance of unity and collaboration ahead of the election.
The resolution, endorsed by several senior party officials, including Ward Chairman Adeloye Adeniyi, Vice Chairman Ademola Samuel, Secretary Kareem Ibrahim, and Legal Adviser Olotu Augustine, urged all PDP members across Ondo State to amplify their efforts and stay committed to achieving electoral success.
Stakeholders highlighted the necessity for collective action and personal dedication to ensure Hon. Agboola Ajayi emerges victorious in the forthcoming election.
The resolution, which was subsequently shared with the media, emphasized the party’s determination to uphold unity and discipline within its ranks, stating: “We commit to intensifying our individual and collective efforts towards securing the victory of the PDP and its candidate, His Excellency, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, in the November 16, 2024, governorship election.”
A substantial portion of the meeting was dedicated to praising Debo Ologunagba, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, for his role in the party’s achievements.
Party leaders recognized Ologunagba’s contributions, notably his efforts to amplify the party’s message at both state and national levels and his leadership in organizing and mobilizing party structures for the election.
In a show of appreciation, the meeting formally passed a Vote of Confidence in Ologunagba.
The resolution, signed by the Ward Executive Committee, acknowledged that Ologunagba’s leadership has been instrumental in ensuring the party’s stability and unity, particularly as the governorship election draws near.
It stated: “The Chapter unanimously passed a Vote of Confidence in Hon. Debo Ologunagba as the highest-ranking party officer from the state for his exemplary leadership at both the Ward and other levels of the party in Ondo State, and his commendable performance as the national spokesperson for the party.”
Alongside the Vote of Confidence, the Ward Executives pledged their ongoing support for Ologunagba and other party leaders in Ondo State, committing to work together for a successful election outcome.
The Ward leaders also took the opportunity to commend all elected party officials in Ondo State for their unwavering dedication, commitment, and efforts in fostering the growth and success of the PDP.
