President Bola Tinubu has urged political leaders and voters in Ondo State to maintain peace and actively engage in their civic duties without fear during the upcoming governorship election on Saturday.
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the president emphasized the importance of a democratic process that accurately reflects the will of the people, allowing them to choose their leaders freely.

He also noted the deployment of security forces to ensure law and order during the election period. The president expressed gratitude for the commitments made by the Inspector General of Police and the Chief of Defence Staff, assuring that security personnel would operate professionally and in accordance with the Electoral Act to guarantee a credible electoral process.
Additionally, the president reminded all political stakeholders, particularly the candidates, that the authority to govern is granted by the people. “This right must be honored and not undermined,” he stated.
He reinforced that it is in the best interest of all Nigerians to ensure a free and fair election, thereby strengthening the country’s over 25 years of democratic governance.
