Nigeria Super Eagles stand-in Captain William Troost-Ekong has described Nigerian singer Fela Kuti as his inspiration.
Ekong who has been an integral part of the Super Eagles team for more than 10 years has heap praises to the singer.
“A lot of people get surprised when they see Fela Kuti ‘s face on my body. I understand that because I’m not a musician neither are my entertainers or even know how to sing.” Ekong said.
“The truth is I love Fela, he was a man of truth. He suffered for years because he decided to stay in the side of truth and he was plain about it.
“Fela was a Hero and the founder of our music Afrobeats that has given my brothers the platform they have today.
“To me I will choose Fela over Micheal Jackson.” The defender added.
The Super Eagles defender has a tattoo of the singer on his arm to show his love for the singer as he prepares to take on Rwanda in Uyo in the final qualifying game of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Monday.
